A grenade blast was reported on Thursday carried out by the terrorists at a busy SRTC bus stand in Jammu. Three people were in a critical condition out of which two are being operated and 28 were injured. The injured were immediately rushed to the hospital.
The grenade reportedly went off under a bus, resulting in the shrapnel being contained in a smaller area. A parked bus of SRTC bus stand suffered extensive damage and caused panic among the people. The police have sealed off the area and further investigation is in progress.
This is the third grenade attack in the bus stand area since last May as an attempt to disturb the peace in the city. Two months ago, a similar blast had occurred at the main bus stand here. The grenade fell short of the target and exploded in the air, without causing any damage or casualty, an official had said.
