The first case of the most dangerous variant of corona Delta+ in a 65-year-old woman in Bikaner. The Medical Education Department of Rajasthan has confirmed the new variant on Friday. The woman has taken both vaccine doses.
The ‘Delta+’ variant has arrived in Rajasthan after reporting existence in around 8 states of the country. According to the officials of the medical department, the woman is now recovered, but till now the corona report of the woman is said to be positive. However, she has already taken both doses of the vaccine before she was found positive.
The sample of the woman was sent to NIV (National Institute of Virology) for examination on May 31. The state government received the investigation report after 25 days. After this, the Medical Education Department sent the sample report to the Bikaner collector and instructed them to adopt further processes.
As per the instructions, special tracing and aggressive sampling should be done by creating a Containment Zone in the area where the woman is living. Along with this, instructions have also been issued for sampling in the surrounding area apart from the family members of the woman, contact person.
This woman is a resident of Bangla Nagar and the medical team will now re-examine all the people who have come positive in this area in the last one h. As of now, 9 samples have been sent to NIV from her area.
So far this variant has been found in Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Kerala. Maximum cases have been reported from Maharashtra with a count of 21. Till now, more than 50 cases of this variant have been reported in India, while two people have lost their lives.
The government said that the second wave of Covid in India is not over yet, even now the rate of coronavirus infection is more than 10% in 75 districts and between 5-10% in 92 districts.
