18 arrested for duping people in multi-crore ‘radioactive doll’ fraud

The ‘radioactive doll’, packed in a fake DRDO box, presented by police on Saturday.
A Mumbai-based mechanical engineer and his associates, who claimed to be Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) officials, hoaxed unaware victims from various parts of the country into buying a rare and valuable ‘radioactive dancing doll’.
The scam came in the light on Saturday after Jaipur Crime Branch arrested 18 accused from several cities including Delhi, Mumbai, Indore, Uttar Pradesh in Jaipur. Ganesh Ingole is the lead man of the racket and runs a fake company named Rencel India in Mumbai. Ingole said, ” He and his companion Satya Narayan of Jaipur formed a nexus and convinced many people to invest in radioactive products that can be sold to NASA for an exorbitant amount.” Satya Narayan forged people by showing fake DRDO and NASA certificates to trick the victims.
