Winter holidays extended in schools till Jan 13

In view of the severe cold, the Jaipur Collector declared holidays till Jan 13 for children up to class 8th. Schools will now open in Jaipur on Jan 16.


Due to severe cold, the winter vacation of children from classes 1 to 8 in Jaipur, has been extended till January 13. It is Sunday 14th January. Makar Sankranti holiday has already been declared on January 15 in Jaipur. In such a situation, now all the schools of Jaipur will open on 16 January. 

Actually, the effect of winter is continuously increasing in Jaipur. The minimum temperature has reached below 5 degrees Celsius. In view of this, the district administration on Thursday extended the winter vacation of students from classes 1 to 8 by 8 days for all the government and private schools in Jaipur. 

Action against those violating the rules

Jaipur District Collector Prakash Chandra Rajpurohit issued an order on Thursday and said that the weather will remain fluctuating for the next one week. Keeping in mind the changing weather conditions, the duration of winter vacation is extended till 13 January. However, during this period the pre-scheduled examinations will remain the same. Strict action will be taken against any school which disobeys these rules of the government.

Earlier, the Rajasthan government had declared 13 days of winter holiday. Which was scheduled to start from December 24, 2023 to January 5, 2024.

Collector has the right to extend leave

Generally, when winter is severe, collectors are authorized to extend the holidays. This trend has been going on for the last several years that collectors are increasing the holidays at their own level. A letter in this regard is given to all collectors from the Directorate of Secondary Education.
