The Education Department is preparing to cancel the recognition of private schools for violating norms in the admission and not giving admission to needy children under Right to Education (RTE).

On Wednesday, Jaipur District Education Officer Rajendra Kumar Hans sent a proposal to cancel the recognition of 24 private schools to Education Department Director Kanaram. With the final approval on this, the recognition of 24 big private schools of Jaipur may be canceled.

Jaipur’s District Education Officer Rajendra Kumar Hans said, “According to government rules, private schools are not giving admission in RTE. It is proposed to give admission under RTE to needy children on 25% seats in schools. 24 private schools of Jaipur were violating these rules. The Education Department had also sent reminder letters to them several times regarding this. Despite this, none of these schools obeyed the orders of the Education Department. Nor did they respond to the warning letter.”

“After this, preparations for action against them have been started. At present, we have prepared a list of 24 private schools in Jaipur district and sent it to the Director of Education Department. As soon as the approval is received, the recognition of all these schools will be canceled,” he added.

Parents are continuously raising complaints with the education department regarding the problems of RTE, but the department is only giving assurance and not providing relief by taking action.
