Patients coming for treatment at Sawai Mansingh (SMS) Hospital will no longer have to visit the hospital or e-Mitra Center for their test reports. The hospital administration has now started the process of sending the report through WhatsApp on the patient’s registered mobile number. At present, this facility is for those patients whose mobile number is registered in the Jan Aadhaar card.

Last month, Chief Secretary Sudhansh Pant and Additional Chief Secretary of Medical Health Department Shubhra Singh had visited SMS Hospital. During this, he had given instructions to make such arrangements that the patients get treatment as soon as possible with less hassle and their families do not have to travel here and there with the patients. During this time, ACS Shubhra Singh had asked to start the facility of sending patients’ reports on mobile through WhatsApp.

The hospital administration started this new facility on a trial basis a few days ago. After removing some of the flaws found in the trial base, it has now been fully implemented. At present, reports of microbiology, pathology and biochemistry will be sent on WhatsApp. At present, this facility is not available for tests related to the radiology department.

This will be the process

After coming to the hospital, when the patient gets registered in OPD by giving Jan Aadhar card, then this test report will be available to the patient on that number.

If the patient or his family has activated WhatsApp on the mobile number in the Jan Aadhar card, then the patient’s report will be sent to the registered mobile number immediately after preparation.

All this will happen through the IHMS server operated in the hospital. As the report gets automatically prepared through this server, it will be sent to the patient’s mobile through WhatsApp.

Patients has to visit a hospital or e-Mitra center

At present, patients have to go either to the hospital during OPD or to the e-Mitra center to get the test report. Patients who have an IHMS app in their mobile can also download the report by visiting SMS Hospital website on mobile or computer.

About 30 thousand tests are done every day. According to the hospital administration, on an average 8 to 10 thousand patients come to the OPD in SMS Hospital every day. Apart from these patients, 28 to 30 thousand tests are done every day for many other patients including those admitted in emergency and IPD.
