Sports players to get Rs.20,000 pension in Rajasthan

After a long wait of 11 years, preparations are being made to bring a new sports policy in Rajasthan. The sports department officials have prepared a draft regarding this. Under this, now programs will be run to search for players in towns and hamlets along with cities and villages.

Under the new sports policy, a sports pension program is being planned for the first time in the state. Under this, a provision has been made to give Rs 20,000 as pension every month to athletes, para athletes and coaches. This pension will be given to players who win medals in the Olympic Games, Paralympic Games, Asian Games, Para Asian Games, Commonwealth Games, and Para Commonwealth Games.

Along with this, coaches who received Arjun and Dronacharya awards have also been included in it. Under the new policy, players will also be provided medical insurance facilities. Under this, insurance coverage of Rs 10 lakh will be given to international level players and Rs 5 lakh to national level players.

Talent identification program will start

Planning has also been done to fit Rajasthan in the draft of the new sports policy. Under this, community level engagement programs will be run. In this, engagement programs will be run at rural community engagement, urban community engagement, school and college levels, so that people can be kept fit at every level. More and more people can be connected to sports. 

Along with this, various games will also be organized. This will include national level and multi-sports games. At the same time, talent identification programs will also be run in cities and villages as well as small towns to find sports talents.

Games were divided into three categories

1st Class: Athletics, Archery, Badminton, Basketball, Boxing, Cycling, Shooting, Taekwondo and Volleyball

2nd Class: Division Fencing, Judo, Weightlifting, Handball, Powerlifting and Wrestling

3rd Class: Chess, Football, Gymnastics, Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Netball, Rugby, Sepak Takraw, Squash, Table Tennis, Wushu, Equestrian, Golf, Hockey, Kayaking & Canoeing, Lawn Bowls, Rowing, Sailing, Soft Tennis, Swimming, Triathlon and yachting.

Training will start from school itself

In the draft of the new sports policy, special planning has been done for the athlete development program. Under this, an ecosystem can be created for sports development. For this, a sports academy will be prepared at the school level, where basic sports infrastructure and sports equipment will be provided. Along with this, regular training center programs will also be run at the district level, so that players can be given better training from the beginning.

This is also special for players

Along with the Center of Excellence for the players, a High Performance Center will be built in Jaipur.

A scheme to build standard stadiums will be introduced at the division level. Sports grounds will be upgraded and developed at the district level.

Indoor and outdoor sports facilities will be developed at tehsil and sub-divisional level.

Basic sports infrastructure will be prepared at Gram Panchayat level. Sports university will be developed.

Studied the sports policy of different states

According to the Rajasthan Sports Council Secretary, “A draft of a new sports policy has been prepared to promote sports in the state. This draft has been prepared after studying the sports policies of different states of the country. This will now be placed before the public and players. Their suggestions will be sought on this. After this, this policy will be reviewed at the ministerial level and a decision will be taken on it.”

Currently, cricket and polo have not been included in the draft of the new sports policy. Earlier in the year 2013, sports policy was implemented in Rajasthan. In such a situation, preparations are being made to implement a new sports policy in the state after 11 years.
