The Rajasthan government will give reservation to Agniveers in the state. This was announced by CM Bhajanlal Sharma on the occasion of Kargil Day (26 July). The government have also announced to give relaxation with reservation in the recruitment of State Police and Forest Guard.
One becomes Agniveer after clearing four stages
Common Entrance Exam: This test contains questions from GK, Science, Maths, Logical Reasoning, Physics, Chemistry, Computer and English. Post-wise test syllabus may vary.
Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Fitness Test (PET) In this test, physical parameters like weight, height, high jump, pull-ups are tested.
Medical Test: This test is taken in the military hospital.
Document verification takes place in the final stage.
Know the Agneepath Scheme
The government had launched the Agneepath Scheme in 2022. Under this, youth are recruited on contract for four years in the Army, Navy and Air Force. Six months of training is also included in 4 years.
After four years, Agniveer will be given rating on the basis of his efficiency. On the basis of this merit, 25% of Agniveers will be taken into permanent service. The rest will return to the civilian world.
In this scheme, soldiers below officer rank are recruited. Their rank is as Personnel Below Officer Rank (PBOR).
The rank of these soldiers will be different from the current appointment of commissioned officers and non-commissioned officers in the army. Recruitment is being done through rallies twice a year.
To become Agniveer, one must be between 17.5 years to 21 years. Also, it is necessary to have at least a 10th pass. Agniveers recruited after the 10th pass will be given a 12th pass equivalent certificate after completing 4 years of service.
Starting Inhand salary of Agniveer is Rs. 21000
In 4 years of service, Agniveer contributes Rs 5.02 lakh from his salary to the corpus fund. The government also contributes the same amount of money.
After four years, Agniveer will get a lump sum amount of Rs 11.71 lakh in the form of service fund package. They will not have to pay any tax on this.
Thirty annual leaves will be given, medical leave will be given on the doctor’s report. Pension, gratuity, canteen and post-retirement facilities will not be available.
