A huge fire broke out in an agarbatti factory in Jaipur on Sunday night. The fire was controlled with the help of 20 fire engines. Goods worth lakhs of rupees were burnt to ashes in the factory. Prima facie, police believe that the fire was caused by a short circuit.
According to the Vishwakarma police station Fire Officer, Bhanwar Singh Hada, “There is an incense stick factory in the name of Aromatic Industries at Road No. 17 Vishwakarma. The workers were on leave in the factory as it was Sunday. Three people including security guard Kailash Sharma were present in the three-storey factory. Suddenly at around 7:30 pm a fire broke out on the top floor of the factory. Within no time the fire took a terrible form.”
Employees saved their lives by running away
Seeing the huge plumes of smoke rising along with the flames, panic spread among the local people. The employees including the security guard present in the factory saved their lives by running outside. Vishwakarma police station reached the spot on receiving information about the fire. After giving information at the fire stations, the police immediately called the fire brigade to extinguish the fire.
20 firefighters brought the fire under control after about two hours of hard work. The fire was so severe that raw and finished goods worth lakhs of rupees kept in the factory were burnt to ashes. Police prima facie investigation believes that the fire was caused by a short circuit on the third floor of the factory.
