The protest against CAA-NRC, happening in many parts of the country including Delhi scaled up and has reached Jaipur. On Friday, an all-women protest started at the martyr’s memorial in the capital Jaipur.
It is named Shaheen Bagh Jaipur on the lines of Shaheen Bagh in Delhi. More than 2 dozen organizations have supported the strike that started at 4 pm on Friday evening. Women surged in scores from nearby districts this morning to join the indefinite strike.
A heavy police force has been deployed on the spot keeping the view of the strike. The women involved in the protest are angry that when the country’s economy has deteriorated completely, then instead of improving it, why the Modi government is focusing on issues like CAA and NRC.
According to the State President of Bhim Army’s Women Wing, Nilofar Khan, “The strike will continue till the central government withdraws its decisions. This indefinite strike has been started in Jaipur in the name of Shaheen Bagh movement which has been going on in Delhi for a long time.”
State President of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, Nizamuddin says that the Modi government is dividing the country in the name of religion, the way in which the exercise to implement CAA and NRC is being done, the brotherhood in the country is deteriorating. He said that if the government continues to adopt this act in such a manner and does not withdraw its decision then the movement will continue in this way.
Significantly, there have been protests from place to place in the state so far in relation to CAA and NRC. But, on Friday afternoon, an indefinite strike on the lines of Delhi was started in Jaipur as well. Police agencies and security agencies have also become cautious in view of the mob.
