Traveling between Delhi and Jaipur is set to become faster and smoother with the completion of a new 67-km access-controlled highway link on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has announced that this new stretch, connecting Bandikui to the Jaipur Ring Road, will be operational by June 2025, reducing travel time to just 2.5 hours.

- Reduced Travel Time: The new link will cut the journey time from Delhi to Jaipur by half, compared to the current 6-hour drive.
- Shortened Distance: The route will be approximately 20 km shorter, eliminating the need to exit the expressway at Dausa and use the slower NH-21.

- Rail Overbridge Completion: A rail overbridge on the Delhi-Ahmedabad railway line is under construction and expected to be ready by May-end. Temporary diversions may be introduced for traffic flow until completion.
Benefits for Commuters
The new expressway link will provide relief from congestion on NH-21, which currently passes through several towns and villages, causing delays. Once operational, travelers can enjoy a direct drive from Delhi’s DND Flyway to Jaipur without diversions. Additionally, the first 9-km stretch connecting the DND Flyway to the KMP interchange is expected to open by December 2025, further easing travel for residents of Noida, Ghaziabad, and East Delhi.

NHAI Chairman Santosh Yadav has emphasized thorough inspections and test drives before opening the new corridor to the public. Engineers have been instructed to ensure the road is free of defects, such as potholes, to avoid complaints post-inauguration.
