In view of the haphazard running of e-rickshaws and the traffic jams caused by them, now a color-code system has been implemented for e-rickshaws in Jaipur city. Collector has created 6 zones and issued an order to operate e-rickshaws of different colors at different places. This colour code has been determined police station wise.
The Collector has banned the operation of e-rickshaws on JLN Marg, Tonk Road (Rambagh Circle to Lakshmi Mandir Tiraha), Gandhi Nagar Mod Tonk Road to Gandhi Circle (Gandhi Marg), Janpath, Bhawani Singh Road and other roads.
In the orders issued from the Collector, operation of e-rickshaws on Sikar Road from Khasa Kothi to Road No. 14, from Chomu Pulia Circle on Kalwada Road to 200 feet expressway culvert, from Sirsi Road to 200 feet culvert and on Prithviraj Road has been banned. According to sources, due to the problem of heavy traffic jams and VIP movement in these areas, it has been decided to stop the operation of e-rickshaws.
Color Coded e-rickshaws in different areas
- Pink color in Zone-1
In the boundary area of Jaipur North, pink colored e-rickshaws will run in Kotwali, Manak Chowk, Subhash Chowk, Brahmpuri, Ramganj, Galta Gate, Jaisinghpura, Amer and Nahargarh police station areas. This includes Chandpole, Chhoti Chaupar, Badi Chaupar, Ramganj Chaupar, Surajpole, Brahmpuri, Amer, Kukus, Purani Basti, Galata Gate, Jaisinghpura Khor and other areas.
- Light green in Zone-2
Kanota police station, Transport Nagar, Jawahar Nagar, Adarsh Nagar, Lalkothi, Moti Dungri, SMS, Malviya Nagar, Airport, Sanganer, Pratapnagar, Ramnagariya and Malpura police station areas of Jaipur East are included, where light green colored e-rickshaws will operate. These police station areas include Bapu Nagar, Moti Dungri, Malviya Nagar, Ramnagariya, Kanota, Paldi Meena, Transport Nagar, Jawahar Nagar, Adarsh Nagar, Rajapark, Pratap Nagar Kumbha Marg and many other areas.
- Sky Blue in Zone-3
Jaipur Central area includes VKI, Sadar, Sindhicamp, Bani Park, Vidyadhar Nagar, Shastri Nagar, Bhatta Basti, Sanjay Circle, Jalupura, Ashok Nagar, Jyoti Nagar, Vidyalapuri police station area, where sky-coloured e-rickshaws will operate. This area includes many areas including VKI, Sindhi Camp, Railway Station, Vidyadhar Nagar, Lankapuri, Shastri Nagar, Jhotwara, Bhattabasti, Ambabadi.
- Saffron in Zone-4
Saffron colored e-rickshaws will operate in Sanganer Sadar, Muhana, Mansarovar, Shipra Path, Sodala, Mahesh Nagar and Shyam Nagar police station areas in Jaipur South area. This area includes Pratap Nagar, Sanganer, Malpura Gate, Mahesh Nagar, Mansarovar, Shyam Nagar, Barkat Nagar, New Sanganer Road, Sodala and surrounding areas.
- Light yellow in Zone-5
In the western area of Jaipur, light yellow colored e-rickshaws will operate in SEZ, Bhankrota, Chitrakoot, Vaishali Nagar, Karni Vihar, Bindayaka, Kardhani, Kalwad, Jhotwara, Murlipura and Harmada police station areas. This area includes Mahindra Sez, Bhankrota, Jaisinghpura, Panchyawala, Karni Palace, Jhotwara, Sanjay Nagar, Govindpura, Bindayaka, Sirsi, Khatipura, Vaishali Nagar, Dhawas, Sirsi Road and other places.
- White color in Zone-6
This is an area of Jaipur Metro Zone, which will run white colored e-rickshaws in the area around the Metro Railway Station. These e-rickshaws will operate in an area of 1.5 to 2 kilometers from the metro station.
