The JDA team on Tuesday took action against illegal construction on the proposed 100 feet sector road (Himank Path and Chopra Farm Road) from Heera Path (B-2 Bypass New Sanganer Road) to Vande Mataram Marg.

Notice was given a month ago

Notices were issued to illegal builders a month ago regarding action. After this, a large number of local people started demolishing their illegal constructions on their own. The owners of about 12 houses and shops started removing the constructions on their own with the help of JDA machines. There were many people who did not remove their construction. The team of Jaipur Development Authority will take action against him on Wednesday.

20 people brought a stay, 9 demanded compensation

20 people have brought a stay from the court. Of these, the case regarding compensation is pending in 9 cases. Their construction is before 2003. According to the orders of Rajasthan Government, payment is made to the builder for demolishing old structures since 2003 on Sector Road in Prithviraj Nagar area of Jaipur.

Also, in 11 cases, cases are going on in the court regarding disputes like family disputes and rent deeds. Everyone’s cases are pending in different courts with different hearing dates. The final decision in this entire matter will be taken only on the orders of the High Court. JDA is demolishing the illegal construction and building the sector road only after the order of the High Court.

More than 10 thousand people live in 27 colonies

The 1.8 kilometer road from Heera Path to Vande Mataram Circle passes through a total of 27 colonies approved and unapproved by Jaipur Development Authority. There are 251 permanent buildings here, in which more than 10 thousand people live.

5 JCBs, 3 drill machines and more than 10 dumpers deployed

More than 50 officers and employees of JDA’s enforcement squad, 100 police personnel and more than 50 zone level employees will be present to remove illegal construction on Vande Mataram Marg. During this period, illegal construction will be removed with the help of 5 JCBs, 3 drill machines (two big, one small) as well as more than 10 dumpers and tractors.

This is the matter

A 100 feet sector road from Vande Mataram Marg to New Sanganer Road was proposed by the Jaipur Development Authority in the Prithviraj Nagar area. There was a long standing protest by the local residents demanding its construction. Last year, on 16 November 2023, the High Court had ordered to widen the sector road. No action could be taken then.

At the same time, after the formation of the new government in Rajasthan, JDA, citing the court order, issued a notice to the illegal builders in May and gave them one month’s time. But, illegal constructions were not removed. The JDA team has set a target to remove illegal construction from 18th to 21st June.

Benefit from the construction of a 100 feet road

After the completion of the construction of a 1.8 km 100 feet wide link road till Vande Mataram Circle, lakhs of people living in Prithviraj Nagar and Mansarovar will directly benefit from it. This will reduce the pressure of vehicular movement on Ajmer Road and New Sanganer Road as well as other alternative routes.

Troubled people had filed a petition

Local residents were protesting for a long time demanding the construction of Vande Mataram Sector Road. Some people had filed a petition in the High Court regarding the construction of the proposed road.

As per a local resident, “This road should have been constructed by the government long ago, so that thousands of people living here could get basic facilities. Passing through this road in the rain becomes like risking your life. Potholes two feet deep on a broken road invite death. In such a situation, people are unnecessarily occupying government land and building.”

Preparation for action in these areas also

Along with this, in future, JDA is preparing to remove encroachments on government land and roads in New Sanganer Road, Prithviraj Nagar, Sirsi, Jagatpura and Ajmer Road areas.
