The long-awaited journey of the underground Jaipur Metro phase-2 is ready to begin. For the past five years, the construction work for the underground metro was in process. The trial run will now start on November 20. This train will run between Chandpole and Chhoti Chaupar.
On Wednesday, a meeting was held at the Jaipur Metro Rail Corporation (JMRC) and the board of directors took the decision to start the trail. Many JMRC officials, including Jaipur Metro chairman Bhaskar A Sawant, MD Mukesh Singhal were present in the meeting.
According to a senior JMRC official, “We discussed various aspects of the work done so far on Phase 2 of Jaipur Metro between Chandpole and Chhoti Chaupar in detail. The progress has been satisfactory and we are finally ready to start the trial run. The trial will begin on November 20. The people have been waiting for this for the past 5 years. The traffic being disrupted due to the Jaipur Metro work will return to normal on this stretch soon which will be a big relief for commuters, local shopkeepers and shoppers.”
The trial run will continue for about 45 days. The CRS will be invited for inspecting the functioning. Only after CRS gives a green signal, the Underground Jaipur Metro Phase 2 will be open for the public. It is expected that Jaipur Metro will likely start operating by March. It will run between Chandpole and Chhoti Chaupar by March.
