A horrifying hit-and-run incident in Jaipur’s Nahargarh area has left two people dead and nine others injured. The accident occurred on Monday evening when a speeding SUV plowed through pedestrians and vehicles in a crowded market area.

Eyewitnesses reported that the driver, identified as Usman Khan, was heavily intoxicated at the time of the accident. The SUV struck multiple two-wheelers and pedestrians, causing chaos and panic. CCTV footage of the incident, which has gone viral, shows the vehicle ramming into several people and dragging a bike for several meters before fleeing the scene.
The victims, a man and a woman, succumbed to their injuries during treatment, while the injured are currently receiving medical care at SMS Hospital. Some of the injured are in critical condition, raising concerns that the death toll may rise.
Locals gathered in protest outside the police station, demanding strict action against the accused. Police have arrested Usman Khan and seized the vehicle involved in the incident. Additional forces have been deployed in the area to maintain order.
The tragic event has sparked outrage on social media, with netizens calling for stricter road safety measures and harsher penalties for drunk driving. Rajasthan’s former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot condemned the incident, describing it as “heart-wrenching” and urging authorities to file charges under serious sections of the law.
