A major attack was averted on Wednesday as Rajasthan police arrested three people carrying 10 kg RDX. The accused were conspiring to set up a serial blast in Jaipur during Navratri.
Rajasthan police busted a conspiracy to set off a serial blast in Jaipur. The target was to set up bomb blasts in crowded areas on Hindu new year and Navratri. The Chittor police arrested three people and recovered 10 kg RDX during a search operation. All three suspects were caught in Nimbahera, Chittor and are being brought to Jaipur.
According to initial reports, the accused had reached Chittor from Ratlam to make way to Jaipur. Several other pieces of equipment for making timer bombs were also recovered in the search. The police found the explosives and cash in a bag inside the car during the search at a blockade.
Reportedly, the police found two bags of silver-coloured and grey granular explosive substance weighing 12 kg from these three miscreants. Apart from this, a Bolero car numbered MP43 CA 7091 with three ropet clocks with a Duracell battery, three connectors with wires, a plastic vial with six small bulbs and wires. Police reported a case under the Explosive Substances Act.
Meanwhile, further investigation on the matter is underway as the accused could be associated with any terrorist organization. The ATS team is now looking into the matter and is carrying out a thorough inquiry. The ATS, however, has not given information about who they are and which organization they belong to. Till now, talks are going on continuously with the officials of NIA and IB. The city has been put on high alert
