Jaipur will soon welcome wildlife lovers with the state’s first tiger safari going to start near Nahargarh Biological Park. This 8 km track safari has been prepared in an area of 30 hectares at a cost of about Rs 4 crore.
It is noteworthy that Jaipur will get this fifth safari as soon as Tiger arrives from Nagpur. Jaipur will be the only city in the country to have five safaris. Leopard safari in Jhalana, Leopard in Amagarh, Elephant safari in Amer and Lion safari in Nahargarh Biological Park are already running.
Two big engraved pieces of stone have been placed at its entry gate, on which the date of inauguration will be marked. This safari has been prepared exactly like the Lion Safari. There is only a short distance between them.
The entry ticket rate has not been finalized yet, but the estimated rate will be Rs 250 to Rs 300 per person. At present, Rs 250 per person is being charged for Lion Safari. The safari time will be around 30 to 40 minutes.
Paths made through streams and mountains make safari exciting
2 caves have been made in it where the tiger found its natural habitat. There are 5 water bodies here. Of these, 3 are man-made and 2 are natural. Currently, only the lion safari is operated, it is for the first time that the tiger safari is also going to start in Jaipur. This safari will be operated in a closed vehicle instead of an open gypsy.
Tiger pair may leave today
After the Forest Department gets approval from the Central Zoo Authority of Delhi to bring the tiger, the team can leave on Wednesday to collect the tiger pair. This safari will start from Nahargarh Biological Park. This pair is being brought from Gorewada Zoo in Maharashtra.
At present there are 4 big tigers (male-female) and 2 cubs (born last month) in Nahargarh Biological Park. The cubs are currently kept in the Neo Care Unit. The pair will be brought to Jaipur in the first week of August. In exchange, wolf and hyena will be sent from Jaipur to Nagpur.
