The people of Jaipur will once again face a shortage of drinking water. There will be no water supply in Jaipur city tomorrow due to leakage in Bisalpur drinking water project. The Public Health and Engineering Department (PHED) is working to fix it.
Leakage has occurred again in Bisalpur drinking water project after about a month. To fix the leakage, the Public Health and Engineering Department (PHED) has decided to stop the water supply on September 30. Due to this, there will be no water supply in Jaipur city on the evening of 30th September and morning of 1st October.
According to the Additional Chief Engineer of PHED, Ajay Singh Rathore, “There has been leakage in the valve near village Jaisinghpura, Diggi in the 2300 mm diameter MS transmission line between Bisalpur-Jaipur. For its repair, the Bisalpur project will be shut down from 9 am to 9 pm on September 30. Due to this shutdown, there will be no evening water supply in Jaipur city on 30th September. The supply will also be affected on the morning of October 1st.”
Due to frequent leakage in the lines, questions are being raised on the engineering related to the project. Neither monitoring is being done properly, nor is the firm able to handle it. The water supply department has given the maintenance work to the JCKC firm. Rs 6 crores are being spent annually for this, but despite this, leakage is occurring again and again in the line.
