Theater lovers alert! Jawahar Kala Kendra is going to host ‘Jairangam’ populated by cine stars, lyricists, story writers, and directors for seven days. This year the theme of the festival is ‘Jairangam Ek Ehsaas’. There will be 21 plays in 7 days, including 7 plays from Rajasthan.
Furthering the culture of theater and art in all its forms, Jairangam brings to you a spectrum of experiences from plays to workshops, and from cultural performances to panel discussions. The fest is organized by 3M Dot Band, Department of Art and Culture and Jawahar Kala Kendra.
In this fest, a total of 21 plays will be staged in three shifts at the Jawahar Kala Kendra. Of them, 16 plays which will be seen for the first time in Jaipur. There will be a drama at 12 noon in Krishnayana, at 4 pm in Rangayana and at 7 pm in Intermediate at Jawahar Kala Kendra. In the session called ‘Rang Samvad’, the aspects related to theater will be discussed in the presence of experts at 2 pm.
Around 500 artists from Rajasthan, Mumbai, Delhi, Bhopal, Assam and other states will participate in Jairangam. There will be many special performances this year witnessing a list of cine world personalities participating in the festival including Kumud Mishra, Makrand Deshpande, Jatin Sarna, Harsh Khurana, Sarika Singh, Atul Satya Kaushik, Shubhrajyoti Bharat, Amitosh Nagpal, Girija Oak Godbole, Pabitra Rabha.

On Dec 18
12 noon: The program will begin with the play ‘Dosh’ under the direction of Vinay Sharma. In this, actor Harsh Khurana and actress Sarika Singh will show their talent. Harsh Khurana has played characters in many TV serials and films. Whereas Sarika Singh has done films like Bombay Velvet, Jagga Jasoos.
4 pm: There will be a drama under the direction of Vikas Bahri. Jatin Sarna, who played the role of Bunty in the web series Sacred Games, is going to be seen in this drama.
7 pm: The play ‘Dhumrapan’ will be held on the same day at 7 pm. This play is being staged for the first time in Jaipur. It has been selected in 5 categories for the most prestigious META Award in the theater world in 2017. Actors Kumud Mishra, Adhir Bhatt, Shubhrajyoti Bharat, Abhishek Saha, Ghanshyam Lalsa, Leesha Bajaj, Saurabh Nayyar, Siddharth Kumar will be seen in this drama directed by Akarsh Khurana.
On December 19
12 noon: A play ‘Hum Bharat ke Log’ directed by Abhishek Goswami and team Breathing Space
4 pm: Dwarf actors will make it special by participating in the play ‘Kino Kao’. Pabitra Rabha, who has acted in films like Physical Theater Festival, Japan and Mary Kom, Tango Charlie, will direct it.
7 pm: Mehfil – Ek sham rango ke naam event including ‘In conversation with Piyush Mishra’, ‘Rajshekhar live’ and ‘Who is Puneet’ will be held.
On December 20
12 noon: “To live is to play a game, it is also to play a role” A play ‘End Game’, directed by S.M. Azhar Alam will be held.
4 pm: Play named ‘Aadhe Adhure’ directed by Sabir Khan
7 pm: Amitosh Nagpal’s play ‘Mahanagar Ke Jugnu’ will be held. There will be a chance to see the live performance of famous TV actresses like Girija Oak Godbole, Sakhi Gokhale and other actors.
On December 21
12 noon: “The age of darkness appeared many times at us and it is enforced agitation”. A play named ‘The death of Galileo directed by Rajkumar Rajak.
4 pm: A play ‘Amba’ directed by Saurabh Srivastava will be staged.
7 pm: “The 21st century will come and everything will be fine.” Drama ‘21vi Sadi’ directed by Tapan Bhatt and Saurabh Bhatt will be staged.
On December 22
12 noon: “as any story could” a play named Bheed Bhara Ekant directed by Gopal Acharya will take place.
4 pm: A drama ‘Narvaidehi’ will be staged directed by Abhishek Mudgal.
7 pm: A play, ‘Gandhi Gatha’, directed by Saurabh Anant will be performed.
On December 23
12 noon: ‘Kitni Qaidein’ directed by Ramesh Bhati Namdev
4 pm: ‘Romeo Juliet in smart city of contemporary India’ adapted, designed and directed by Saurabh Anant will be staged.
7 pm: A play named ‘Prem Ramayan’ written and Directed by Atul Satya Koushik will be staged.
On December 24
7 pm: The play ‘Dhat Teri Yeh Grihasthi’ will be staged under the direction of Makarand Deshpande.
