Morris Garages India on Friday inaugurated Jaipur’s first residential community charging facility. The two EV chargers have been installed at Raj Aangan Society (NRI Colony), Jaipur.
The said station promises to have a Type-2 charging facility and a sim-supported sharable Charger Management System. MG motors plans to set up more such charging stations in the Rajasthan capital.
According to MG Motors, we are taking conscious steps towards green mobility and strengthening the EV charging infrastructure in the country. It provides a 6-way charging ecosystem with a plug-and-charge cable onboard, AC fast chargers (installed at the customer’s home/office), DC superfast chargers at MG dealerships, public charging network, and charge-on-the-go with RSA (Roadside Assistance) and community charger.
MG has also recently partnered with Jio-Bp and BPCL to add momentum to EV adoption by expanding opportunities for intercity travel while installing EV chargers across highways and cities. The SMART chargers installed in an NRI colony in Jaipur are Type 2 chargers, sim-enabled and supported through a sharable charger management system while the connected AC charging stations will cater to the residents and visitors of these societies for their EV charging needs round-the-clock, MG Motor said.
1000 new charging points in 1000 days
Under the MG Charge initiative, the automaker has planned to install 1,000 AC fast chargers at residential localities across India in the next 1,000 days. The company will also provide end-to-end coordination and support for the installation process, saving costs for the selected residential societies.
The move by MG India is to ensure appropriate EV infrastructure in the country, offering citizens, accessibility and availability of resources. These AC charging stations shall be operational throughout the day. With the increasing demand for electric vehicles, automobile giants are shifting toward providing fuel-efficient energy solutions.
