Fire in Jaipur’s furniture factory, loss worth crores

A massive fire broke out in a furniture factory in Jaipur at around 4.30 am on Friday morning. 20 firefighters took several rounds and brought the fire under control. Two firefighters were injured while extinguishing the fire. There was a loss worth crores of rupees in the furniture factory located in Sanganer Sadar area.

According to the Sanganer Sadar police, “There was a fire in the Global Art Factory located in Sitapura Industrial Area. Furniture making work is done in the factory. At around 4:30 in the morning, a sudden fire broke out in the factory due to a short circuit. Within no time the fire became severe.”

Panic spread among the local people. On receiving information about the fire, Sanganer Sadar police station reached the spot. Informed the fire department. Police brought the fire under control by making several rounds with the help of 20 fire tenders. It took more than 5 hours to control the fire.

Two workers were injured while extinguishing the fire

While extinguishing the fire, the plaster of the ceiling started falling. Surendra and Rajendra, employees of the fire brigade department, got hit by it. Both the employees were not seriously injured as they were wearing helmets. They were given first aid for minor injuries.

Loss worth crores

Goods worth crores of rupees were burnt to ashes in the factory fire. To extinguish the fire, the fire brigade employees had to break windows, lights etc. Due to the fire, both the finished goods and raw materials kept in the factory were burnt to ashes. The solar panel installed in the factory was also completely turned into junk. Police prima facie investigation has revealed that there has been a loss of around Rs 1 to 1.50 crore in the factory due to the fire.
