As Rajasthan tussles with extreme cold weather, schools in Jaipur have been closed till January 14, 2023 in wake of dipping temperature. Schools have been closed for Classes 1 to 8. For the past few days, the state has been experiencing severe cold waves.
As per an official notice issued by Jaipur District administration, the winter holidays for students of Classes 1 to 8 has been extended till January 14, 2023. However, the timings of teachers and scheduled examinations will remain the same. Strict action as per the rules will be taken against the schools if found violating the orders.
As per an order issued previously, Schools in Jaipur had been ordered to stay closed till January 7, 2023 owing to the ongoing cold waves. Witnessing a drastic dip in temperature, a fresh order has been issued to extend the holidays till January 14. The schools will now reopen on January 16.
The official notice issued by the district government reads that “In view of the increase in the outbreak of cold weather and the possibility of a cold wave in the coming few days, a holiday has been declared in Jaipur till January 14, 2023 till Class 8th in all government and non government schools in the district.”
IMD has issued a warning regarding a drop in temperatures across North India. Delhi NCR region, Punjab, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh are expected to witness extreme cold weather in the coming few days.
