The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) announced that starting April 1, travelers on the Jaipur-Kishangarh route will face increased toll charges. The revised rates will range from ₹5 to ₹70, depending on the type of vehicle.
For cars, the toll fee will rise from ₹140 to ₹155, with charges at Thikaria toll plaza near Bagru increasing to ₹95 and Badgaon toll booth near Kishangarh to ₹60. Light commercial vehicles and minibuses will see their toll fees increase from ₹225 to ₹240.
The Jaipur-Kishangarh highway, one of India’s busiest routes, witnesses over 33,000 vehicles passing through Thikaria toll plaza daily, generating toll collections exceeding ₹60 lakh per day. To accommodate the high traffic volume, NHAI has constructed flyovers at major junctions along the highway, eliminating ten black spots over the past four years.
The toll hike has sparked mixed reactions among commuters, with some expressing concerns over the rising costs of travel. However, NHAI officials have emphasized that the increased revenue will support infrastructure improvements and maintenance.
