A gruesome murder case has shocked Jaipur, where a woman and her lover were arrested for allegedly killing her husband and attempting to destroy evidence. The incident came to light when a half-burnt body was discovered near Ring Road on March 16.

The victim, Dhannalal Saini, a 45-year-old vegetable vendor, had reportedly confronted his wife, Gopali Devi, about her extramarital affair with Deendayal Kushwaha, a 30-year-old clothing store worker. According to police, the confrontation escalated into a fatal attack on March 15. The accused lured Saini to a shop above Deendayal’s workplace, where they struck him on the head with an iron rod and strangled him with a rope to ensure his death.

In an attempt to dispose of the body, the duo stuffed it into a sack and transported it on a motorbike to a secluded area near Bheruji Temple. CCTV footage captured the suspects carrying the sack, which later helped police identify and apprehend them. The body was set on fire but left partially burnt when the accused fled upon spotting an approaching vehicle.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Digant Anand confirmed the arrests, stating, “The victim had objected to their affair, after which his wife and co-accused Deendayal hit him on his head with an iron rod in rage. This led to him losing consciousness and possibly dying on the spot.”

The case has sparked discussions about domestic violence and relationship-driven crimes, highlighting the need for awareness and preventive measures. The police are continuing their investigation to gather further evidence.

This chilling incident follows a similar case in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, where a woman and her lover were arrested for murdering her husband and disposing of his body in a cement drum. The rising number of such crimes has raised concerns about safety and trust within families.
