The ‘Jaipur by Nite 2019‘ was introduced in the year 2008 by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). This event was initiated with a prime idea of giving a flip to the night tourism during Summers and Monsoon in Pink City.
This year it is the 7th edition of the carnival and will be celebrated on 27th and 28th September. This unique endeavor will host several national and international tourists. It gives them a chance to explore the rich heritage and culture of Rajasthan. This center of attraction among tourists will showcase the art, culture, craft, heritage, village tourism and performance on Mahatma Gandhi as it is his 150th birthday this year. This carnival will let the tourists explore more colors of the Pink city with live Bollywood music, dance, night marathon, the best of ethnic shopping, variety of drinks and sumptuous food.
Top Attraction Of The Event
As per Apurva Kumar, chairman of the tourism committee, Tourism in Rajasthan is highly seasonal. The idea of night tourism will help in increasing the tourist footfall in this season. In summers, the tourist inflow is quite low as compared to the winter. Now, when the city is at its natural charm after the drizzling monsoon. Jaipur by Nite 2019 event will promote tourism in Jaipur. The event will promote the city as a year-round tourist destination.
Anand Mishra chairman of CII-Rajasthan said that Around 3000 participants from the cities like Gurgaon, Delhi, Mumbai, Ludhiana are going to be a part of this two-day carnival. Ambassadors from Georgia, Uzbekistan, Slovak, diplomats from Belgium, and few other countries are also going to mark their presence.
According to Nitin Gupta, head of CII-Rajasthan, “There will be a marathon held on the second day of the event. More than 1500 runners are confirmed to be a part of this marathon. “
Like the other countries of Laos and Paris, the tourism department of Jaipur has some future planning to bring in the night tourism in Jaipur. There are thoughts to extend this two-day event onto the streets of Jaipur in summer and monsoon seasons. This will need a traffic-free walled city with everything mobilized to enable tourists to indulge in shopping, trying out delicacies and enjoying the folk arts. This would require more resources and combined efforts of many Government departments along with traders of the old city.
