Jaipur boy secures AIR 21 in civil services exam

Pururaj Singh Solanki from Jaipur secured AIR 21 in the civil services exam in results announced by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).

In the recently released Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) civil services exam results 2023, Pururaj Singh Solanki, a resident of Jaipur, achieved a rank of 21st in all of India. 

In his second try at the UPSC civil services exam, Pururaj Singh Solanki, a student at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Vidyashram and resident of Jaipur, achieved a rank of 21st nationwide. Last year, Solanki unfortunately missed the cut-off for the interview stage by a mere three marks.

After graduating with a degree in chemical engineering from IIT-Bombay, Solanki dedicated the last two years to independently preparing for the civil services exam. He comes from a family of government employees; both his father and mother hold government positions – his father in the power department and his mother as a school teacher.

Father of Pururaj, Mahendra Singh Solanki, said, “After steady hard work, Pururaj has cleared the UPSC exam this year. His aim is to work towards improvement of education and health infrastructure using innovative ways.”

Vinayak Kumar, also from Jaipur, aced the exam on his first try, securing an impressive All India Rank 180. He’s the son of Anand Kumar, the state’s additional chief secretary for the home department. 

Talking about his efforts, Solanki emphasized the importance of consistent studying and avoiding distractions like social media to maintain focus. He acknowledged experiencing moments of doubt during his preparation, but credited his family as his unwavering source of support.

Another resident of Jaipur, Harsh Choudhary, secured AIR 254 in the results announced by UPSC.

Jaipur isn’t the only city celebrating success in the UPSC exam! Many others from Rajasthan also achieved success. Two candidates From Barmer district made it to the selection list-Mohanlal Jakhar, who secured AIR 53, and Akshay Doshi, who secured AIR 75. 

From Bikaner, Khushhali Solanki secured AIR 61 and Krishna Joshi from Jodhpur secured AIR 73. Mrinalika Rathore from Nagaur secured AIR 125 and Shivank Chowdhary secured AIR 530.
