The Rajasthan police stated that the new helpline has been established to ensure that couples who marry are not harassed or face problems from certain groups. Each district nodal officer has been instructed to take swift action whenever a complaint is filed.
According to an official, “There is a practice in some parts of the state where couples who marry after defying caste traditions often face threats from their families, leading to difficult situations. Therefore, a decision was taken to facilitate assistance for such couples.”
