In view of heavy rains in Jaipur city, as per the instructions of the District Collector, a holiday has been declared today in all government and non-government schools in the city from classes 1 to 12. There is a heavy rain alert in Jaipur till August 5.
Heavy rains in Jaipur in the last 24 hours have affected the life of the people of the city. The rains started on Wednesday night and continued intermittently till late Thursday night. In the last 24 hours, Jaipur received 230 mm of rain. Earlier in 1981, there was 326 mm rainfall, during which the city was flooded. But today, due to the failure of the system, the city became flooded.
City got stucked due to rains
Water reached inside the vehicle on the main roads. Colonies on the outskirts were submerged. Roads caved in, with vehicles getting stuck. People remained imprisoned in their homes. In the morning, the supply of vegetables, milk, newspapers and other essential items coming to the colonies stopped. People missed buses, trains and flights. According to the weather center, the period of heavy rain in Jaipur will continue till August 5.
Situation after rain in Jaipur
Colonies on the outskirts were submerged, people stayed in their homes in the afternoon.
The basements of shops and houses were filled with water, they kept draining them out throughout the day.
Roads caved in at many places, school bus and JCB fell in it.
Many schools declared a holiday, and children of many schools got stuck in the rain.
A dozen trains were delayed due to waterlogging at Jaipur Junction, Gandhi Nagar station.

The roads became rivers in front of Jhotwara bridge and Jhotwara police station, Sikar Road, Dhehar Ka Balaji, DCM, Nirman Nagar, many places in walled city area, Ambabari area.
Waterlogging disrupted traffic in many areas of the city including Tonk Road, JLN Marg, No. 4 Dispensary, Ajmer Road and Hasanpura Road, MI Road, Amer Road, Delhi Road, Jaisinghpura Khor Mod.
