The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heatwave warning for Rajasthan, predicting a significant rise in temperatures starting April 14. Western Rajasthan, in particular, is expected to experience severe heatwave conditions, with maximum temperatures likely to reach 45-46°C in regions such as Jodhpur, Bikaner, and the Shekhawati area.
The heatwave is anticipated to intensify further on April 15 and 16, with dry weather prevailing across the state. Jaisalmer is expected to see a temperature surge of 3-4°C, reaching up to 44-45°C by April 15. Meanwhile, isolated thunderstorms and light rain have been forecast for parts of Jaipur, Bharatpur, Ajmer, and Kota divisions on April 13, offering brief respite before the heatwave takes hold.
Residents are advised to take necessary precautions to avoid heat-related illnesses, such as staying hydrated, avoiding prolonged exposure to the sun, and wearing light, breathable clothing. Authorities are closely monitoring the situation and have urged the public to remain vigilant during this period of extreme weather.
