After the amendment in the rules of the Vivekananda Scholarship for Academic Excellence scheme, 300 students will be given scholarships abroad and 200 students will be given scholarships in a reputed institution of the country (India) itself.
After reviewing the Vivekananda Scholarship for Academic Excellence scheme, the government has decided to make partial amendments in it. Under this, now only 300 students will be sent to study abroad, while 200 students will be taught in renowned institutions of the country.
Major changes in Vivekananda Scholarship Scheme
Earlier the name was Rajiv Gandhi, it was changed to Vivekananda.
Earlier there were foreign universities, now the top 50 universities of the country have also been included.
The scheme made for 200 students has been increased to 500 students.
Children will get these benefits
For family income less than 8 lakhs – Scholarship up to Rs 50 lakh and Rs 1 lakh per month for living abroad.
For family income 8 to 25 lakhs – Scholarship up to Rs 42 lakh and Rs fifty thousand per month.
For family income more than 25 lakhs – Scholarship of Rs 34 lakh and expenses for living abroad will not be given
