After the suggestion of experts Rajasthan schools will now not open for the children before the vaccine arrives. Experts suggested not opening schools for the safety of the children in fear of the third wave of Covid.
According to the experts, “The third wave of Covid is anticipated to arrive in September and children are estimated to be affected the most in this wave. A discussion was held with Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot regarding how to control the third wave. In the last few days, the cases of corona have started increasing again across the country.”
“After the reports of several new cases in some states of North East, there are suspicions that a third wave may come soon. In such a situation, it is suggested not to open schools for the safety of the children until the corona vaccine is available for them,” said the experts.
Chief Minister Gehlot reviewed with experts to discuss how to avoid it. In this meeting, Principal of SMS Medical College – Dr. Sudhir Bhandari, Senior Respiratory Specialist – Dr. Virendra Singh, Professor of Pediatric Department in SMS Medical College and JK Lone Hospital Jaipur Senior Doctor Dr. ML Gupta was present with other experts and discussed the matter of opening the school.
As per the experts, until the guidelines of the Central Government for the availability of vaccines and all the preventive measures for the children are not there, then it will not be right to open the school. A large number of small children were also infected in the second wave of the corona. In such a situation, vaccines are very important to save children.
The vaccine will arrive probably by the end of August or September. So it will be better if the school does not open for one and a half or two months. In schools, children could neither keep masks on all the time nor follow social distancing properly. If we want to save the children, then we have to be more careful.
Education Minister Govind Singh Dotasra in the Gehlot government had announced the opening of the school from August 2 after the cabinet meeting held on July 22. But the very next day, the government withdrew the decision and formed a committee of 5 ministers. This committee will present its report to the Chief Minister after deciding the date of opening of the school and up to which class the children should be called to the school.
The committee consists of Education Minister Govind Singh Dotasara, Health minister – Raghu Sharma, Agriculture Minister – Lalchand Kataria, Minister of State for Higher Education – Bhanwar Singh Bhati and Technical Education Minister of the state- Subhash Garg.
