Jalmahal is going to attract more visitors as the government is planning to beautify it. The encroachment will be removed from the dam of Jalmahal and it will be enhanced. After this, not only boating will start in Jalmahal, but cultural programs will also be held three days a week on the dam.
Deputy Chief Minister and Tourism Minister Diya Kumari visited the walled city area of Jaipur city Jal Mahal, Maotha and various tourist spots on Tuesday. During this, she also instructed the officials to increase tourism related facilities.
The government has made a budget provision of Rs 100 crore for the heritage conservation and development of Jaipur city, in which work will be done on complete planning for heritage conservation and development.
Cultural programme at Jal Mahal
A cultural program will be organized by the Tourism Department on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings at Jal Mahal during the season. It will be done on the lines of light and sound in Amer. She directed that the vehicles of the tourists should go only to the Maotha parking and from here the tourists should be taken to the fort by battery-operated vehicles or small buses, so that the area can become a no-pollution zone.

While inspecting Sanganeri Gate, Johri Bazaar, Badi Chaupar, she reached Hawa Mahal and saw people taking photos in front of Hawa Mahal. She directed the development of a photo point right in front of Hawa Mahal so that the tourists coming to Jaipur can take back their memories.
Visited these areas
While visiting the boundary wall area she inspected City Palace via Chandni Chowk till Tripolia Gate, Chhoti Chaupar, Kishanpole Bazar, Ajmeri Gate, New Gate, Sanganeri Gate, Johari Bazaar, Badi Chowpar, Subhash Chowk, Zorawar Singh Gate. Also conducted an intensive inspection for about two hours from Jal Mahal to Amer Mawathe.
Saw the cleaning system
Diya Kumari first saw the cleanliness system of Chandni Chowk outside the City Palace. Instructions were given to remove the defects left on the heritage walkway and to make arrangements for cleanliness here. He gave instructions to fix the wires and poles hanging on the buildings and to remove the posters and banners put up in the markets of Tripolia-Chhoti Chaupar. She said that all these are defacing our heritage.
Uniformity in the color of the shops
While inspecting the markets, Diya Kumari said that the names of the shops should be in one color instead of being colourful. The color should be as per the bylaws of the Municipal Corporation. This will maintain uniformity and the city will look beautiful. She gave instructions to install dustbins in Walled City matching the heritage color of Jaipur City.
Maharaja School of Art will be redeveloped
During her inspection from Chhoti Chaupar to Chandpol, Diya Kumari gave instructions to redevelop the Museum of Legacy (Maharaja School of Art) located in Kishanpole market. During the inspection from Kishanpol to Ajmeri Gate, from Sanganeri Gate to Johri Bazar Badi Chaupar, she suggested redeveloping the Pal of Jal Mahal and beautifying it. She also gave instructions to start boating here.
