Built in the 18th century, Jaigarh Fort will host the Jaigarh Heritage Festival in December, showcasing Rajasthan’s rich heritage, history, and culture through conversations, heritage walks, workshops, craft bazaars, sound and light shows, and exotic local cuisine. During this event, Jaipur’s scientifically developed harvesting system plan will also be showcased.
Sawai Padmanabh Singh announces the first edition of ‘The Jaigarh Heritage Festival’
Maharaja Sawai Padmanabh Singh of the former royal family of Jaipur announced the first edition of ‘The Jaigarh Heritage Festival’. This festival will be organized at Jaigarh Fort from 27-29 December 2024. The event will be organized in collaboration with Teamwork Arts, which organizes JLF.
Regarding the event, Sawai Padmanabh Singh said that last time the event was organized on a small scale, but this time there are preparations to organize the Jaigarh Festival on a large scale. This is an effort to promote the importance of Jaigarh, one of the oldest and medieval forts of Rajasthan, as well as the art, culture and heritage of Jaipur and the entire Dhundhar region.
The imposing Jaigarh Fort, located atop the ramparts of the Amer Fort complex, dates back to the 18th century and holds historical significance as part of the heritage of the then royal family of Jaipur. This grand fort will serve as the backdrop and venue for the festival, where performances will be performed by diverse artists specializing in folk, classical and contemporary music.
The festival will also highlight the rich heritage, history and culture of Rajasthan through conversations, heritage walks, workshops, craft markets, sound and light shows and showcase the exotic local cuisine. Attendees will have the opportunity to experience a unique musical journey inside an ancient fort, while also reveling in its royal grandeur.
