The Jaipur Regional Transport Office (RTO) is set to revolutionize the process of issuing driving licenses with the introduction of an automated driving license testing system this month. This new system aims to eliminate manual interventions and ensure a more objective evaluation of applicants’ driving skills.

According to Rajendra Shekhawat, the RTO (I) officer, the automated driving test track (ADTT) will assess applicants’ performance using advanced software. The system will monitor the duration of the vehicle driven by the applicant and their adherence to traffic rules. Only after the system gives the go-ahead will a license be issued.

The move is part of a broader initiative to digitize the entire process of obtaining a driving license. For learner’s licenses, the application process has already been made online. The introduction of ADTT is expected to make the process more efficient and transparent.

In addition to the automated testing system, the RTO has also requested breath analyzers from the transport department to curb drunken driving, especially among commercial vehicle drivers. The RTO has also launched initiatives like ‘Star of the Month’ and ‘Star of the Year’ to recognize and reward officials who catch the most traffic violators.

With these measures, the Jaipur RTO aims to enhance road safety and streamline the licensing process for drivers in the region
