Jaipur, June 20, 2025: The Jaipur Metro Rail Corporation (JMRC) announced that the much-awaited Phase 1-B of Jaipur Metro is likely to begin trial runs by the end of July. The extension will connect Badi Chaupar to Transport Nagar, adding 2.85 km to the existing Pink Line corridor.

This development is set to ease daily traffic congestion and improve connectivity between central Jaipur and its eastern localities. Civil construction has been completed and signaling systems are being tested, according to JMRC officials.

Key Features of Phase 1-B:

  • Length: 2.85 km underground stretch
  • Stations: Ramganj Chaupar and Transport Nagar
  • Estimated Cost: ₹973 crore
  • Expected Commissioning: Late 2025

The Jaipur Metro currently operates between Mansarovar and Badi Chaupar. Once Phase 1-B is operational, commuters heading to eastern parts of the city will save significant travel time.

Officials confirmed that all safety protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs) will be strictly followed during the trial runs.
