Jaipur markets are gearing up for Diwali by creating themed decorations and lighting displays. These decorations will range from Ayodhya temple-inspired designs to those celebrating the “Rising Rajasthan” investment summit.

Jaipur’s markets are participating in a competition hosted by the Municipal Corporation to determine the best Diwali decorations. Each market association has chosen a unique theme for their decorations, which will be on display from October 28th to November 5th.

Johari Bazaar is decorating their market with a theme based on the Ayodhya temple. They have hired artists from Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, to create the decorations. The market association president, Kailash Mittal, said that they want to honor Lord Ram through their decorations and attract more visitors to the market. They plan to install colorful lights and special effects throughout the market.

Chandpol Vapaar Mandal is also participating in the Diwali decoration competition with a patriotic theme. They plan to use electric candles shaped like the Indian flag. They have hired artists from Bengal to create these decorations.

According to the Chandpol Vyapaar Mandal president Subhash Goyal, “We’ll install thousands of candle electric lamps all over the market. Then a Tricolour charka will be installed on every pole of the market. Artists from Bengal have already started work. We’ll also put posters of Swachh Rajasthan messages all over the market and there will be a grand ‘Swagat Dwaar’ (welcome entrances) at Chandpole Gate.”

The market association of MI Road, one of Jaipur’s largest markets, will be creating six “Swagat Dwars” for Diwali. These gates will be located at Ajmeri Gate, Government Hostel, and four at Panch Batti.

Referring to the Rising Rajasthan global investment summit, the MI Road market president Suresh Saini said, “More than 200 poles are being installed for lighting and decoration. Moreover, MI Road traders have decided to promote Rising Rajasthan themes in which they will put posters and banners of heritage places of Rajasthan and would motivate people to invest in the state.”

The Jayanti market, Jaipur’s largest electronic market, will also use the “Rising Rajasthan” theme for their Diwali decorations.

Some markets, like Chaura Rasta, Bapu Bazar, and Radio market, have chosen not to have themed decorations. Other markets, such as Kishanpole, Hawa Mahal market, Chandi ki Taksal, and Sanjay Bazar, are still deciding on their themes.

A public Laxmi Poojan ceremony will be held at Choti Chaupar. This event will be attended by representatives from all market associations in the Walled City, as well as some of the city’s MLAs.
