At Jaipur, Jagatpura RTO office recently introduced an automated driving track. This track proves to be a big challenge for driving license applicants. Even the skilled drivers are finding it difficult to get through the four phases of the license trial.
Over the last two days, 90 percent of the applicants failed the test. The track is equipped with a sensor, which is causing people to fail even at their small mistakes. The negative marking is done on each of the mistakes. Cameras automatically record the mistakes made by an applicant.
According to a senior RTO officer, “Nearly 60 people were asked to test their driving skills on the track. Almost 52 people failed the test.”
The applicants have to pass through four phases of the trial.
First phase: applicants have to park the vehicle parallel and in an angular angle in 30 seconds.
The second phase: applicants need to drive forward and in reverse on an 8-shaped track in just 30 seconds.
Third phase: applicants have to drive on an H-shaped track while following all the traffic rules. They get 70 seconds for this.
Fourth phase: applicants have to drive on an elated track with a height of up to 5 feet. If the driver couldn’t control the vehicle for 20 seconds, the sensors will go off.
There will be no human involved in the judgment. This will be done on the basis of sensor technology. This will diminish the corruption and only the deserving and skilled drivers will get the license.
