The Rajasthan Anti Corruption Bureau team on Wednesday arrested the Assistant Treasurer of the pension department for taking a bribe of Rs.10,000.
The Police Inspector Narendra Mohriya formed a team under the direction of Additional SP Prithviraj Meena to take an action.
The arrested accused Amit Pareek is an Assistant Treasurer in the pension department’s office located on the path of Janani Dody on the back of Aatish Market. This amount of bribe was being taken from a retired employee of the pension department, said ASP Prithviraj Meena.
A complaint was lodged to ACB by the retired man against the Amit Pareek after giving an initial bribe of Rs. 5000 to him. As per the complaint, Assistant Treasurer Amit Kumar is demanding a bribe of 25,000 thousand rupees in order to fulfill his pension related work. The ACB then verified the complaint and formed a trap. The accused was caught red-handed by accepting the rest of the amount on Wednesday.
The accused has been booked under various sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act and will soon be presented in the court. Further investigation of the case is on.
