The thrilling ‘Roseau’ performance at the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in Paris 2024 is now ready to enthrall the people of Jaipur. The French company Greate Siel, famous for its aerobatic and meditative performances, is presenting a unique aerial show at the Subhat Niwas courtyard of the Jaigarh Fort in Jaipur on October 10.
The show will be held at 11 am and 4.30 pm. This aerial show of the French Institute in India is being held in India in collaboration with the Alliance Française Network in India. It will be held in Jaipur and other cities of India like Chandigarh, Ahmedabad, Pune and Pondicherry.
Artistic exchange between India and France will be strengthened, said HH Thierry Mathou, Ambassador of France to India – ‘Rojeo’
And with other exciting cultural productions, the Alliance Française network is strengthening artistic exchange between our two countries. This innovative production serves to make the ties between our artistic communities more vibrant and exemplifies our commitment to bringing Indian audiences to experience the best of France’s contemporary art scene.
Sawai Padmanabh Singh, Chairman, Jaigarh Public Charitable Trust said, “Jaigarh Fort has long been a symbol of Rajasthan’s rich heritage. We are now delighted to host this wonderful international collaboration. The grand backdrop of the fort will enhance the beauty of Rozo’s thrilling aerial performance, which will be a unique experience for the audience in Jaipur.”
A fusion of art and nature, created by Stéphane Girard and Camille Beaumier, with compositions by Pauline Frémeau and costumes by Anne Jonathan, Roseau is a unique live installation that will offer audiences a unique experience. Against the backdrop of the sky, the show is designed to take a moment to contemplate and connect with the poetic and delicate aerial movements of the artists. The figures sway on metal poles (6 meters high) like invisible gusts of wind, reminiscent of the reed beds of the Camargue, where the French company is originally from.
With live musicians and electronic and field recordings, the 42-minute production creates a contemplative atmosphere where art and nature intertwine. Roseo premiered in 2023. It has since received international acclaim for its dreamlike choreography, including a mesmerizing Olympic performance as the opening show curated by artistic director Thomas Jolly. The company has left a lasting impact by connecting with communities.
