The luxury train, Palace on Wheels is set to start with its new revamped look. As per the senior officials of Rajasthan tourism department, corporation, it will begin this season’s first journey on September 4.
This luxury train that takes you on a heritage tour to Rajasthan and surrounding cities. Palace on Wheels will tour for 7 nights and 8 days covering Bharatpur, Jaipur, Udaipur, Jodhpur, Agra, Chittorgarh and ends in Delhi. It will leave Delhi with mostly foreign tourists on board.
The tourism department has spent nearly Rs 50 lakh on staging and interior designing for this season in 2019. Each saloon is decorated and service is enhanced to give a feel of royalty to its passengers. The renovation works also included painting, furnishing, curtains and new furniture.
The luxurious train will entice tourists with its revamped appearance as the train is completely booked for three of its rounds this season. This is the evidence of the growing popularity of the train with each passing year. The Palace on Wheels is popular among tourists worldwide as it represents the Rajasthan culture and heritage. The majority of the tourists who book train is international tourists. This year, 99% of the passengers are only international tourists.
According to Pradeep Bohara, general manager of the Palace on Wheels, “We are very happy that the train is receiving so much attention for tourists who love luxury travel. The train is fully booked for its three rounds.”
“We have revamped the train with nearly Rs 50 lakh of budget. Rs 5 crore is expected to spend on its next renovation in 2010. This year the work will be completed before the train begins its first journey on September 4,” said the officer.
