Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) is set to begin a major road expansion project on April 9, widening the stretch from KhatiPura Tiraha to Jharkhand Mod to 160 feet. This initiative aims to improve traffic flow and connect the road to the 200-feet bypass, enhancing mobility in the area.

However, the project has stirred strong opposition from local residents. Many claim that the demolition process is being carried out without prior notice or a proper rehabilitation plan. Over 700 homes, shops, and structures across nine colonies are expected to be affected, leading to widespread protests.

In response to public outcry, Urban Development Minister has requested an immediate report from JDA officials and has directed that no forced action should take place without proper public consensus and compensation measures. Residents argue that while they support infrastructure development, their relocation and compensation must be addressed first.

This project is considered one of JDA’s largest road expansion efforts since the New Sanganer Road development. The situation remains tense as authorities work to balance urban growth with community concerns.
