Dabu Print

Dabu printing is also an extraordinary form found alongside Bagru prints. This is another dyeing technique, involving applying thick mud paste on the fabric to dye it. In this, a design is embodied onto the background cloth. This design is coated with clay on which saw dust is spread. The sawdust sticks to the cloth. As the clay dries, the entire cloth is dyed with the help of different colours. Post dying, the area with clay and sawdust mixture remains colourless and does not catch the dye. Furthermore, the fabric is washed after dyeing and drying. This is done to remove the clay and the mixture. To beautify and cover the designed area, the fabric is dyed again in a lighter shade for additional colour.

Block printing, tie and dye have become full-fledged artwork in these regions of Jaipur.
