People traveling from Jaipur metro will now have to pay raised fares. The Jaipur Metro Rail Corporation has decided to increase the fares by one rupee. The fare will be effective from June 1, 2019, to March 31, 2021.
According to the Managing Director of Jaipur Metro Subir Kumar, the fares of Jaipur Metro are increased every two years. This is a routine process.
The fares of the higher slab are increased by one rupee and are now Rs. 12 and Rs.18 from Rs. 11 and Rs. 17. These fares are charged to the people who commute from Mansarovar to Chandpole. The fares for the lower slab will remain the same Rs. 6.
Currently, the metro train makes 170 trips every day. The train arrives every 15 minutes from 6:25 am to 8 am and every 10 minutes after 8 am. People having metro cards are at relief as they have to pay 10% less fares than those who don’t have any.
This metro card is valid up to 10 years and can be purchased from any metro station. It cost Rs. 100 of which Rs. 50 are security charges and are refundable when the card is returned. This card can be recharged at the station or online.
