Boating will once again be started for tourists in Talkatora Lake located in the Walled City of Jaipur. Apart from single-pedal and motor boats, double-decker mini cruises are also being considered.
These double-decker mini cruises are inspired by popular destinations like Goa and many others. These mini cruises feature a music party on the terrace and the tourist is given lunch, dinner or breakfast. For this, tenders have now been floated under the Jaipur Smart City project.
Proposals have been sought from private operators in the tender issued by Smart City. Boating schedule and other things will be finalized after the companies come in the tender. There is a possibility that this tourism activity will start after the monsoon.
Proposals have been sought from the company for getting two types of boating. It has separate rate tenders for double-decker and single boating. The double-decker boating will have a small cruise-like boat. In this, breakfast, lunch or dinner should also be given to the tourist along with organizing a music party. For this, an Indian tourist should be charged from Rs 250 to Rs 800, while a foreign tourist should be charged Rs 500 to Rs 1600.
Boating took place in 2015
In the year 2015, during the Vasundhara government, the Municipal Corporation Jaipur started boating in Talkatora. Then the tourist was taken to Talkatora through paddle and motor boat, but later it was stopped. Due to less water and more dirt, the administration had stopped this tourism activity.
Focus on cycling in Walled City area
50 cycle stands are also being set up so that the tourists visiting Jaipur city’s Parkota area from Smart City can roam around the boundary wall on cycles. Apart from ordinary cycles, geared cycles will be made available to tourists at these stands. Apart from these cycle stands, the old cycle stands will also be repaired and started.
