The impact of Biporjoy, a storm (cyclone) that formed in the Arabian Sea, will be visible in Rajasthan from June 15. Due to this storm, rain can be seen in more than half of Rajasthan. Its danger will remain in 13 districts. A warning has been issued for this.
According to weather experts, this cyclone will hit Gujarat and Pakistan in the evening of 14 June or in the morning of 15 June. After hitting the coast, this cyclone will convert into a deep depression over parts of Gujarat and a low-pressure area over southwest parts of Rajasthan. Due to its effect, there will be heavy rains in these areas for a day or two. There is very less possibility of damage due to this cyclone in Rajasthan.
According to experts, the wind speed of this cyclone will also reduce by the time it reaches Rajasthan, but due to the high moisture level, heavy rains (from 60 to 100 mm) may occur at many places for two days.
After the cyclone reached the coast of Gujarat, the administration is on alert in the areas adjoining Rajasthan. Alerts have been issued for Banswara, Kota, Bundi Jhalawar, Jaipur, Pratapgarh, Rajsamand, Udaipur, Barmer, Jodhpur, Pali, Jaisalmer and Jalore.
Maximum impact on 16-17th
Director of Meteorological Center, Jaipur, Radheshyam Sharma said that on June 15, due to this system effect, the activities of thunderstorms and rain will start only after noon. On June 16, heavy rains can be seen at some places in the districts of Jodhpur, Udaipur division. On June 17 also, the effect of this system can be seen in the form of heavy rains.
Effect will be seen in these districts
The effect of this cyclone will be seen in Banswara, Dungarpur, Udaipur, Sirohi, Jalore, Barmer, Jaisalmer, Pali, Jodhpur, Pratapgarh, Rajsamand, Chittorgarh districts. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for these districts.
Heavy rains in Gujarat, train operation halted due to storm
The maximum impact of the cyclonic storm is being seen in the coastal districts of Gujarat. The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert in these districts and has warned of a storm with a speed of 100 to 130 KM, anticipating heavy to very heavy rains.
In view of this, the North West and North Railway zones have decided to partially and completely cancel the operation of a dozen trains going from Rajasthan to Porbandar, Bhuj, Okha, Gandhidham in Gujarat.
It is being said that among all the storms that have passed through Rajasthan this year, Cyclone Biporjoy is going to be the deadliest. In the last one month, more than thirty people have died due to storms and rain in the state. Now this seven-day storm can increase the assessment of deaths and damages.
