Udaipur man beheaded for posting in favor of Nupur Sharma

A man was allegedly beheaded by two men in broad daylight in Udaipur’s Maldas area soon after he posted on social media in support of Nupur Sharma. Video of this entire attack was also made. The internet service has been for 24 hours in the Udaipur district to maintain peace and order.

The incident took place at around 2.30 pm on Tuesday. Two assailants entered his shop in the middle of the day and stabbed him with swords and slit his throat. Not only this, the accused claimed responsibility for the murder by posting a post on social media after the incident. The markets of Hathipol, Ghantaghar, Ashwani Bazar, Dehli Gate and Maldas Street are closed in protest against the incident. Alert has been issued in the entire Rajasthan. 

Kanhaiyalal Teli (40), who was beheaded was a tailor and ran a shop named Supreme Tailors near Bhootmahal located in Dhanmandi. On Tuesday afternoon, around 2.30 pm, two miscreants came on a bike and entered the shop on the pretext of giving measurements. Until Kanhaiyalal could understand something, the miscreants attacked. Several attacks were made on him with the sword until he died on the spot. The body is still lying outside the shop. 

The shop was not opened for 6 days

Kanhaiyalal was a resident of the Goverdhan Vilas area. He has 2 sons Yash (19) and Tarun (17). 10 days ago he posted on social media in favor of suspended BJP leader Nupur Sharma. Since then, people of a particular community were threatening to kill him. Kanhaiyalal was troubled by the constant threats. He had not even opened his shop for 6 days. He had filed a named report against those who made threats. The police asked him to be careful for a few days but did not show seriousness in the arrest of the accused.

Traders shut the market in protest

Traders have closed the market in protest against the murder. After the incident, a crowd gathered at the spot. Protests are being held in 5 areas of the city by closing markets. To restore peace, the police have converted every corner into a cantonment. On the other hand, the Divisional Commissioner has issued an order to shut down the internet for 24 hours in the Udaipur district on Tuesday evening.

Police team has been deployed

The policemen of Ghantaghar and Surajpole police stations, including Dhanmandi, reached the spot on information. Top police officers and FSL team also reached the spot. The team collected evidence from the spot. After the incident, the Leader of Opposition Gulabchand Kataria also called the SP and inquired about the incident.

According to the SP Udaipur Manoj Chaudhary, “As soon as the information was received, the police had been deployed on the spot. Action will be taken against whoever is the culprit. As of now, there has been no communication with the victim’s family. All the records related to the deceased are being investigated. Some of the accused have been identified.”
