History of the City Park Mansarovar

The land where the City Park Mansarovar is built was previously a metro scrapyard. Rajasthan Housing Board converted this dump yard into a beautiful park. Earlier, the plan was to build a commercial complex here but after the chief minister’s suggestion and considering the environment of the locality City Park was built instead of a commercial complex. The park was inaugurated by Honorable CM Ashok Gehlot on 21, October 2022.

Lakhs of people visit City Park with their families to experience the beauty. It is the second largest park in Jaipur after Central Park. Earlier, the Jawahar Circle Park was the second largest park in the city, but it has slid to the number 3 position after the inauguration of the City Park Mansarovar. The City Park has been built over 52 acres of land. The development of the park will be done in two phases.

City Park, Mansarovar – 1st Phase

The first phase of development is already. To develop the first phase of the city park, the government has spent 54 crores. The developments in the first phase include:

  • Horticulture Works
  • Civil work
  • Jogging tracks
  • Fountains
  • Rock Fountain and Lower lake
  • Sculptures
  • 2 parking areas
  • An oxy hub
  • Sitting benches

City Park, Mansarovar – Development in 2nd Phase

The development of second phase is under construction. Around 120 crores will be spent on the overall development of the park. The development of the second phase includes:

  • Fountain software
  • V.T road plaza
  • New Sanganer plaza
  • Aravali plaza
  • Botanical garden
  • Food court
  • Upper lake
  • Children play area
  • Outdoor gym
  • Open-air theater

The musical fountain square will be installed and developed in an area of 40,000 square meters. A water screen will be added to this on which heroic stories of Rajasthan will be played. Food Plaza will be made on the lines of Jaipur Chaupati. Stalls will be given on rent by Jaipur Housing Board. Also, there will be a sitting arrangement for the crowd around the fountain.

While entering the park through Madhyam marg, a huge fountain decorated with colourful lights welcomes you. As you walk further, the wide range of different flower beds will mesmerize you. The greenery along the walking track is the cherry on the cake for nature lovers.

One of the best features of Mansarovar City Park in Jaipur is the entry plaza. The grand entry gate from the middle path surrounds a big fountain and waterbody next to it. Surrounded by lights and greenery the entire entrance looks grand and spectacular.

City Park Mansarovar is a new destination and a gift for joggers and fitness enthusiasts of Jaipur. It has a 4 kilometers long jogging path. Enough for the everyday run. Also, the internal walkways are 3.5 km long and 20 ft wide. Along with that, it features amenities such as a music system for playing music in the morning and evening. Apart from this, there is a children’s play area where children can easily play.

You will see selfie points and different artifacts as soon as you enter the city park in Jaipur. As many as 17 beautiful sculptures welcome visitors at the entry plaza. So, not taking a selfie at the selfie point will be selfish to this place. When you look at the sculptures you will feel creativity at its best. They look so real that you may feel they will come alive and talk to you. These sculptures are even more mesmerizing when they lits up by the lights.

The best part is that the sculptures here highlight social messages like “save trees”, “protect our mother nature and environment”, and “Importance of sports and physical activity in our life“ most simply and effectively.

Beautiful landscape gardens are yet another great feature of the park which will give visitors a feel of natural surroundings in the middle of the bustling Mansarovar area. Several sandalwood trees are also planted in the gardens. On the sides of the walking track, there are 25000 plants and trees are planted with 32 different species. In this, small flowers have been made in the show area. The flower bed is planted in 2000 sq meters with 50 different species of flowers. When lights fall on the trees, the entire view looks overwhelming. This garden is the best place to visit in winters with family and friends.

The beauty of Rock Fountain and Lower Lake is a sight to behold. It has become the center of attraction among people, especially children. The rock fountain is added with different amazing lights which create different designs. There is a comfortable sitting facility with state-of-the-art 120 benches for the crowd around the rock fountain and lower lake to enjoy the moment.

An entry fee of Rs 20 is charged
But it will be free from only 6 am to 9 am for morning walkers.

Is parking space available in City Park Mansarovar?

Two parking spaces are available at City Park Mansarovar for both two-wheelers such as bikes and four-wheelers such as cars. Since it’s a public place, you don’t pay any parking fee to park your vehicle. The park has become very popular among morning and evening joggers, the parking places at peak hours are usually full, particularly during the weekends.
