News

Good news for the students who travel in buses. Students will now get concession in fares of low-floor and midi buses operating in Jaipur. JCTSL will now issue loop cards for students through which students will be able to travel in buses at concession rates.

After ten years, JCTSL is again preparing to issue cards to the students. This will be a kind of prepaid card which will have to be swapped while booking the tickets to get exemption on the spot. Initially, it will be issued for 20 thousand students and later it will be increased.

This card will not be a normal student card, but a travel card which will be built on the lines of Metro. While booking a ticket in the bus, the student will have to get it swapped at the electric ticketing machine near the conductor. On swapping the money will be deducted from the card and the ticket will be given to the passenger.

JCTSL operates more than 200 low floor and midday buses in Jaipur. In this, the maximum fare from Rs 10 to Rs 70 is charged according to the route. In these buses, students are given 50% concession in government fare. This discount is given only in non AC buses.

Apply for the card online

For the card, students have to apply online on the JCTSL website. In this, they will have to give information about them and their educational institution. After this, JCTSL will send an email to the concerned educational institution. After approving it, the student’s card will be made. The card will be swapped at the machine as soon as it is near the conductor. As soon as the card is swapped, the photo of the student will come to the conductor. With this they will be able to match the student.

According to the CMD of JCTSL, Ajitabh Sharma, “Cards are being made for the students. They have to apply for the card. The fare will be discounted by the card itself. If the card is not there, the full fare will be charged.”

Discount will be available through card

According to sources, now JCTSL will give exemption only to those students, whose card is made by the company. To make this card, the company has sought online applications from banks. Initially there is a preparation to make 20 thousand cards, but later it will be increased if more students come.

Senior citizens get 30% discount

Apart from students, senior citizens and women are also given up to 30% discount on bus fare by JCTSL company. This discount is given in both AC and non AC buses.
