Sodala Elevated road inaugurated, vehicles to get relief from traffic

CM Gehlot inaugurated the newly constructed second longest elevated road from Ambedkar Circle to Sodala roadway on 6 October.

The much-awaited Sodala elevated road was inaugurated by the Chief Minister on Thursday. With the beginning of this second largest elevated road in Jaipur, every day nearly 50 thousand vehicles will get relief from jams at 7 intersections. 

Finally, the journey of vehicles on Sodala Elevated started after a long wait. This elevated road built on Hawa Sadak is the first such elevated road in the state which is connected to another elevated road. This is the second largest elevated road in Jaipur having a length from Ambedkar Circle to Sodala Tirahe (2.80KM) and Hawa Road to Ambedkar Circle (1.80KM).

With the start of this road, the drivers passing through here will not face traffic jams at Bais Godam circle and Hawa Sadak. At the same time, time will be saved in travelling from Ambedkar Circle to Sodala Sabzi Mandi.

The work of the elevated, built at a cost of 225 crores, started in 2016. It was to be completed in three years but the project was completed in 2022. The Chief Minister inaugurated on Thursday. On this occasion, CM laid the foundation stone of 6 more projects.

The projects includes a guest house to at Rajasthan International Center at a cost of Rs 41.84 crore, sewerage treatment plant of 43MLD at a cost of about Rs 73 crore in JDA’s Sankalp Nagar (Sanjharia), Prithviraj Nagar North at a cost of Rs 52 crore. The foundation stone for out-going sewer lines, drainage system on Luniawas-Goner road and main drainage system from Vande Mataram road to Muhana road will be laid.

The journey will be completed in 10 minutes

After the start of this elevated road, there will be a big relief from the traffic jams at Jaipur Bais Godam, Hawa Road, Sodala Tiraha. At present, it takes about 20 to 25 minutes to reach Sodala Sabzi Mandi from Ambedkar Circle via Bais Godam Circle, Hawa Road.

 After the construction of this elevated road, the journey will be completed in just 10 minutes. The road is expected to save nearly 40 minutes of travelling time and decongest Hawa Sadak as it would offer a non-stop drive at a speed of up to 50 km/hour. Apart from saving time, this elevated road will also significantly resolve the issues of traffic jams at Bais Godam circles.
