News

Within a day after starting schools at full capacity, SMS school in Jaipur was forced to stop offline classes and shift to online mode after class 3 and class 6 students tested positive for Covid-19. Both the students are siblings and stay in the same house.

Corona infection has started spreading once again in Rajasthan. Within 24 hours of the school opening with 100% capacity, now school students have started falling prey to Corona. On Tuesday, two students studying in Maharaja Sawai Mansingh School of Jaipur were found corona infected, after which the school management has stopped offline studies for the next 4 days.

The school will be closed for the next 4 days

According to a member of the Maharaja Sawai Mansingh School Management Committee, “Both the students are siblings and are of the same family. They are studying in class three and sixth and were found infected. On Monday night, the relatives of the infected children informed the school management that they were positive.”

“As a precautionary measure, the school management has decided to keep the school closed for the next 4 days. However, the online education will continue during this period, so that other children of the school can study from home,” he added.

Parents blame the government’s decision

Due to this, there is an atmosphere of fear among the parents. Parents blamed the government’s decision of opening the schools with 100% capacity.

One of the parents of a student from SMS school said that the government has decided to open the school with 100% capacity in a hurry. The decision was absolutely wrong. At present, the vaccine is not available to young children. In such a situation, schools should not be opened with full capacity until young children have received both doses of the vaccine.

As per a member of Rajasthan Parent Union Association, “The government should keep the online education smooth. At present the corona is not over. So, till the infection is not eradicated from the root, school children should be made to study in online mode only. The government has taken a hasty decision to open schools with 100% capacity to benefit private schools, which is wrong and we strongly oppose this.”
